Every meaning is a leaning... When life is meaningful we are full of leaning, engagement, and commitment. When life is meaningless, it is leaningless. At such times we are unwilling or unable even to lean toward someone or something other than ourselves.
Meaning comes from spiritual, ego-free union with life. The more we lean selflessly into be-ing as it is gifted to us in the course of everyday living--tending toward or into the gifts--the more meaningful our life becomes.
In order to live meaningfully, we must include the full range of be-ing in our leaning--rejoicing in all goodness, from molecule to miracle, from the simplest inorganic support to the depths of the Person-all God.
Being includes all that is. God and a pebble really are. Keeping that in mind and heart, we seekers of meaning can be gifted with fullness of
Life is a Gift, not simply a given.
To the extent that we receive our life as a gift, we find that meaning and joy abound.
To the extent that we fail to receive--and continue to treat our life as a possession--we notice that we are trying to hang on and to get what we can. We are attempting to save our lifemeaning and are in danger of losing it.
Lifemeaning often gets stuck and needs some unblocking. Fixation on satisfying oneself must be let go.
When we begin to experience the be-ing
of others--both persons and things--we find ourselves becoming grateful for the gifts of life and for the Author of life--the Author of our own life and the life of everyone else.
Praise and thanks to God who is the GIFT of BE-ing and the Author of Life's Meaning!
Welcome to a WebSight on the Heart of
Christian Philosophy,
according to a couple of philosophers,
Mary Rosera Joyce and Robert E. Joyce, Ph.D.
We will pun and have fun.
But we are also
quite serious about
the Meaning of Life
--all Life,
created and Uncreated.
This Lifemeaning Websight is obviously under construction. It is more be-coming than be-ing right now. But feel free to send for information or make comments by clicking on the Email button. We also welcome your suggestions and "insites." ; -)
