LIFE
Life is the actuality of living--an activity that many beings do. Trees are living. Rabbits are living. People are living. But all beings, including molecules of carbon and all manner of inorganic substances, are doing the activity of be-ing. Be-ing is even a more central activity than liv-ing.
When we consider the remarkable being and living of human persons, we are in awe of our responsibility for do-ing our actualities well. Notice yourself. Right now you are breath-ing, read-ing, think-ing, will-ing, and so much more. All of these simultaneous activities are being done by you. And these particular acts cannot be done (for you) by any other being, including God. God makes them possible--for you to do.
Even deeper than these activities, you are also do-ing your liv-ing (being-alive), you are being yourself (self-ing), and you are be-ing-at-all. That ultimate act--the act of be-ing-at-all--is God's supreme gift to you. We persons are able to appreciate and praise God for be-ing and be-ing-with God. Let's do it with gratitude and joy! That's LIFE.
